2015 will be his 3rd year with All Pro Athletes.
Coach Schmidt enters his 6th season as the head coach at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, compiling a record of 65 wins and 36 losses. The 2014 season concluded, with the Barons claiming their third consecutive 4A South Division title with a 15 and 7 record, advancing to the sectional semi-finals, with 9 players earning post-season awards and honors. Schmidt’s coaching career include stops at Georgetown Prep (2006), Blake (2007, 2008) and Catholic University (2009), where he helped guide his alma mater to a conference championship. Schmidt is a 2001 graduate of Blake High school, where he was a 2 year captain and all-county third baseman and pitcher. He also was part of the 2001 state champion Cissel Saxon Post 41 American Legion team. Schmidt continued his playing career at Catholic University, where he was an all-conference third baseman and pitcher, as well as a 2 year captain for the Cardinals and ranks among the all-time leaders for hits in season (46) and ERA for a season (1.65). Schmidt graduated from Catholic University with a degree in history, as well as a master’s in history / secondary education. He currently teaches U.S. and World History, as well as assisting with the Athletic Department, at B-CC.
