Chris has been deeply involved in baseball his entire life and is a proven winner and an award winning coach. He has had an extraordinary amount of experience at all different levels of baseball. His love and passion for the sport is what truly defines him as an athlete and coach.
Born and raised in Stamford, CT, Chris played varsity baseball for Stamford High School and was an all-state star. Chris then played collegiate baseball at Essex Community College in Baltimore, MD before transferring to Salisbury University on the eastern shore of Maryland. He was the starting catcher and batted .380. Chris graduated in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Exercise Science and was promptly invited by the Montreal Expos for a tryout in Florida.
Chris’ illustrious teaching and coaching career began when he accepted a physical education and coaching position with Baltimore City Public School system. His first coaching job was with Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, where his team was undefeated for three years and played in the semi-Regional Playoffs. In 2001, after having successful years as a teacher and a coach, the Baltimore Public School District offered him a position as the Athletic Director at Digital Harbor High School. Chris founded Athletic Department at Digital Harbor High School where he developed an extremely successful athletic/baseball program which he also coached. During this time, Chris also served on Maryland’s State Baseball Committee for five years. Chris also coached his first travel team, the Fowble 16U summer baseball team in Baltimore MD where the team took second place in the Dizzy Dean Baseball Tournament. During the summer of 2005 Chris was named Coach of the Year by the Maryland State High School Coaches Association.
Chris and his family relocated to Stuart, Florida in 2006. Chris quickly picked up where he left off in Baltimore wining state championships! Chris coached at South Fork High School where he played an essential role in helping the Bulldogs reach the State Finals in 2008 and the following year they won the 2009 State Championship.
Chris is currently the Head Baseball Coach at Jenson Beach High school in Stuart, Florida. During the summer months Chris is the head coach of Team Worth Florida 16U. Team Worth was ranked 8th in the nation by Perfect Game 16U poll. In 2010 Chris guided Team Worth to 2nd place at the Junior Olympic Tournament in Jupiter Florida (he beat the then number 1 ranked Houston Banditos), 3rd place at the WWBA’S East Cobb Tournament in GA, and 4th place at the USSSA’S World Series in Orlando, Florida—a dream season once again!
Chris currently resides in Stuart, Florida and runs the Turn 2 Baseball Academy, which he founded in 2002. His company works with baseball and softball players by consulting, training, and guiding student athletes seeking to earn athletic scholarships and play at the college level. Through his camps, personalized training sessions, online portfolios, and academic counseling, Chris helps student athletes and their parents to effectively market themselves to college recruiters.
